The project creates a new core for a health resort built around 1840, which had been rather neglected in the past decades. After the demolition of a historical hotel, the goal was to create a site for this small town including a principle square and an event space for cultural activities. Making use of the level differences, the design introduces a garden theater. This key element is located between the square and the reflecting pond in the lower part of the area. It serves as a link between a new urban space and the existing spa park in close proximity.
The square is framed by an irregular layout of sophora and ornamental cherry trees in addition to the existing large plane trees. Two liquidambar trees give a particular shape to the background of the garden theater.
