The Vienna Main Station Urban Development Area is 109 hectares large. A complete city district is being developed and the design of open spaces plays a pivotal role.
The cityscape is receiving a new character that will also positively influence the development of the surrounding areas. With office spaces totaling 550,000 m², 6,000 new apartments for about 15,500 people, an 8-hectar-large park, as well as schools and kindergartens, a new city district for a residential and working population of around 30,000 people is emerging. The new city district will be connected to high-level public transport and accessed by a dense network of bike and foot paths.
A master plan was drawn up in the further development of the competition project. This forms the basis for currently running, as well as future structural engineering planning that mainly arises, resp., will arise as a result of architectural competitions.
