The four Baroque broderies north of the Upper Belvedere constitute a key element in the course of the renovation of the gardens of Prince Eugene. They were reconstructed between 2004 and 2009 on the basis of the so-called Stuttgart Plan. The botanical parts consist of boxwood ferns, the mineral parts of various sorts of gravel, among them, from Gallo di Sienna, as well as brick chippings and red cullet. A particular challenge entailed—in the overlapping of various historical conditions—adapting the current proportions of this part of the garden to the broderies, which were altered on the sides by the graveled troughs from the 19th century that served as drainage.
